Mayor's Biography

Ömer COŞKUN was born in İzmir in 1987. He completed his undergraduate studies, graduating from the Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration in 2010. In 2012, he started his civil service career as an SME Specialist Assistant at the Düzce KOSGEB Service Center Directorate.

Having passed the District Governor's (Kaymakam) exam, he joined the profession as a Konya District Governor Candidate on May 21, 2013. After completing his provincial internship at the Konya Governorship, he successively completed his intern assistant duties in Konya Seydişehir and Sakarya Hendek Districts, and his inspection internships in Kırklareli Lüleburgaz District. He received language training at the University of Liverpool in England for 8 months. COŞKUN, who is fluent in English, is married and has 3 children.

He was appointed to the post of Ürgüp District Governor by the Presidential Decree of Appointment dated 27.05.2025 and numbered 2025/204, and started his duty in our province on 30.06.2025.
